movies and books and games

So yesterday it hailed the size of nickel's--only sphere like--of course. That was interesting. It was probably the most eventful thing that happened in like 2 or 3 days. Actually that's not true. I watched American History X for the first time the other day. I am undecided as to how I feel about it. It is an intense movie, but I think some of the acting was a little lame, and I found there to be a lack of sufficient plot/background for certain events that occurred. Mostly the end. Daniel never touched the guy as far as I knew, so I don't get why he shot him. In school none the less. It's not like the black kid could get away and enjoy his life without Daniel or anything, he had to go to jail cause how the crap would you kill a kid in a school bathroom with one way out and not get caught immediately? Anyway, I don't know how to describe how I feel about it other than it was intense and sadly true in certain areas and I guess I liked it.

I am reading Brave New World atm (rahal I hope you're proud) and it is interesting as well. I'm only in chapter 4, and I'm sad to admit (but I'll do it anyway just to spite my pride) that there have already been like 20 words that I have no clue what they mean. I started a list, and I'ma look them up so I can get smart somehow ;) That guy cracks me up. I also just finished Captivating. I think that is the first book I have read all the way through since like 10th grade...how sad is that. I just get bored towards the middle of books, I don't know why. I think I have ADHD. I think I just never noticed it before cause I was around all you Portland crazies =P Hopefully I can read BNW all the way through too, cause I am getting tired of this getting dumber crap. Then I need to read like Fahrenheit 451 or East of Eden or something that everyone should have read by my age already. Maybe it's not to late to grow a brain. Maybe I won't need kid sized sunglasses anymore.

Ok, so toooooodaaaaay...guess what I get to do??? I am going to the "16th st. Mall" downtown, which isn't really a mall for those of you in Portland who have no idea what I'm talking about, it's just a street...with free buses and restaurants and crap. Anyway, you wanna know why I'ma go there? Cause I'm going to play capture the flag for like 2 hours with 400 people!!!!!! YEAH!!! That will probably be the most fun thing I have done here thus far. Hopefully we don't get rained all upons, but even if we do it will just remind me more of home. Well, that doesn't start for like two and a half hours, but I'm gonna leave now anyway cause I need to buy shampoo before I start to stink. Cheer me ON!

I have yet to see American History X. Of course that includes about oh... 50 movies that I "should have seen by now." Meh.

I need to remember to write out my book recommendation list sometime. Sounds like you have a few ideas. And, if it makes you feel any better, despite being an english major I haven't read East of Eden and a lot of the other "classics I should have read by now." Sensing a theme?

You will have to tell me about the capture the flag shindig later, I never heard about that. I was busy with my friend's wedding though.

What kinda shampoo do you use? hee hee.

oh seabrooke, you'll win for sure, you've had good experience from us kids over in the NW :) I am so proud of you for reading BNW, I hope you enjoy it.
I'm reading Siddhartha, I have to finish it by monday, and I'm like on the 7th page. Oh well, I can do it!

heh, yeah daniel there are a lot of movies I should have seen by now too. I am not much of a movie person. You'd think will all my free time up here I would watch a movie like every night, but I have only watched like 4.

Soooaaah...yeah. We actually didn't get to play Capture the flag. I went to pick some people up, and by the time we got a parking spot Seth called and told me they already started and he and whoever he was with were going to a cinco de mayo thing instead. So I just went with tybert and fef to sone weird pizze place with neon duckies and played pacman for the FIRSTT TIME IN MY LIFE and lost miserable to fef by like 40 billion points.

I swear I should have heard of that book...but I can't remember what it's about. You better be done by now, seeing as how it's monday and all, ha. um...my dad wants to go on our road trip, but I'm not sure what's happening with that...and do you think if I payed jake he would want to drive his truck too? cause I don't know how I'm going to get all my crap out here, and u-hauls are sooooo expensive.

I have to laugh because I was also going to recommend the Boundaries book series. The general book is pretty good but so is their dating one. I really like all of their books that I have read and they have a few more that I want to read at some point. I don't know if I'm going to get my copies back from my friend. I think I should just get some new ones. I think she needs them more than me anyway. Haha.

Anyway. I hope you're still in bed at least. I woke up around 9:00 and I couldn't go back to sleep. So I'm at somewhere around 5 hours of sleep. Wheeeeeee.

Talk to you soon I hope. Last night was fun, even with the deep-ish discussions we had and whatnot.

Oh yeah, btw, if you accuse me of not being interested in whatever your saying I might have to use my breath of doom on you. Listening is actually one of my favorite pastimes. Which also means if you ever need to vent don't hesitate because you think you would bore me or something :-P

Ta Ta.

hey look. There is a town in our state called "fort collins". It probably would be pronounced differently if there were only one l. My dad's name is colin, not collin, not col(l)in, but colin. It's like if I spelled my name "seabroke" or "sebrooke"...it just wouldn't be the same cause of that whole "what the vowel does before the other letter if you don't add a second letter" thing...yeah. You know I'm right.

Oooh, I'm curious about your deleted comment...

I think your Seabrain might be Seabroke, yet you may have a point. I'll just be sure to talk to my fellow clansmen about changing hundreds of years worth of tradition to fit your request.

I think you've just earned another sweet kick to the butt.

I'm impressed by the great show of love between you two. It has really inspired me.

It will be an example for me for the next few seconds.

Plus, you're one to talk Colin, I haven't seen a new post from you. Psh.

hey, so I spelled some words wrong the first time ok? Don't get all upons about it, or you will be the one receiving a swift kick to the butt...I didn't know you were a kkker. I am deeply dismayed.

Daniel. I am so glad to humbly inspire you and thank you for being on my side :)

Heatz, uh...you let a little kitten borrow it? I was unaware that it was now legal in our nation for kittens and the like to be literate...since when do you know a kitten anyhow? I thought father dearest was allergic and that molly would swallow them whole...I guess I was wrong. Was she at least a trustworthy kitten? Did you take her name and number so you can sue if she doesn't return it?

It was good but you know how it goes with me and books. I normally only read like half then I just can't anymore. I finished it though, so that should be saying something. I got a lot out of it, there were certain things I didn't really understand, or just didn't resinate but overall it did. I think it would be good for you to read. Don't let that kitten jip you.
